Fairyloot Unboxing: ‘Talk Faerie to Me’ · January 2018

I’ve wanted to buy a Fairyloot box for the LONGEST time. In December, I happened to go check their Instagram page. They had a post announcing the theme for the January box, and when I saw it I had a heart attack. ‘Talk Faerie to Me’, it said.

But wait, there’s more: “This box is perfect for fans of faeries and Sarah J. Maas! The book we are featuring is VERY highly anticipated release filled with faeries from a bestselling author, and it will come with a signed bookplate and letter from the author!” WHAAAAAT!?!? THIS BOX WAS MADE FOR ME 😍 So I obviously used my Christmas money to buy myself this Cauldron-blessed box, and today I’m going to show you what came inside it. ♡

Fairyloot exclusive ‘Prince Cardan’ candle by MerakiCandles (shop is now closed)

Described as smelling of clove, oak-wood, moss, leather, black pepper and pine. To me, it just smells like something clean, maybe laundry?

Exclusive ‘Unseelie’ lip balm by GeekyClean; honey flavored.

‘Illyrian’ magnetic bookmarks from Dreamy and Co. The Characters are Feyre and Rhysand from my favorite series, A Court of Thorns and Roses, both in Illyrian fighting leathers ♡

Two art prints by Diana Worak, depicting Aelin and Rowan (Throne of Glass series). They are reversible; on the other side, there are quotes, one by Julie Kagawa and one by Cassandra Clare. Both text illustrations are by Stella’s Bookish Art.

Faerieland coloring book, illustrated by Richard Merritt and Sabine Reinhart. It’s filled with all kinds of mythical beasts 😍

Exclusive ‘What Breaks You’ pillowcase, designed by Evie Bookish – easily my favorite item in this box 😍 It’s a quote from A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas, said by the Suriel, who is one of my favorite characters in the series 👌🏼

This month’s book is The Cruel Prince by Holly Black, which I was totally expecting 😄 With the amount of hype this book had, and especially considering there are faeries in it, it had to be this book 😋 There is also a letter from the author, as well as a signed bookplate, as always!

Lastly, we have an exclusive print by Merwild, one of my favorite artists out there. It’s Prince Cardan, a character from The Cruel Prince. I haven’t read it yet, but I have a feeling this guy will be a new bae very soon 😅 What can I say, I can’t resist handsome faerie men 🤷🏻‍♀️

Here is an overview of the contents of the box. I love everything, it’s like it was made specifically for me 😍😭 Overall, my experience with Fairyloot was amazing. The shipping was fast, the content was spot-on, and the book was one that I really wanted to read, so I really have nothing bad to say 😋 I will definitely re-purchase in the future!

Alright, that is everything that came inside my January Fairyloot ☺️ Please let me know if you liked this unboxing, and whether you’d like to see other unboxings in the future 😉

Did you also get the January Fairyloot? Which item was your favorite? Let me know in the comments! ♡

Thank you for reading,
I’ll see you in my next post ♡

Hi everyone!! So as you might know, I have a youtube channel where I post bookish videos in Portuguese. However, I’ve been wanting to make videos in English as well, as sort of a complement to some of my blog posts.

Well, yesterday was the day I finally decided to film a video!! My huge AwesomeBooks order came in the mail, so I filmed an unboxing for you guys ♡

I’ll be uploading the videos to my study/organization channel, since I don’t really see a point in creating a third channel. Without further ado, let’s get to the books I got…

I only ordered thrillers/crime books, since it’s what I’ve been into lately (also, Fall is definitely thriller time).

Here’s a list of the books I got (click the title to buy with free worldwide shipping):

  1. Her Every Fear by Peter Swanson
  2. The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware
  3. The Dinner by Herman Koch
  4. The Ice Princess by Camilla Läckberg
  5. The Preacher by Camilla Läckberg
  6. The Stone Cutter by Camilla Läckberg
  7. The Bat by Jo Nesbø – 20th-anniversary edition is on sale!!
  8. Cockroaches by Jo Nesbø
  9. The Redbreast by Jo Nesbø
  10. Nemesis by Jo Nesbø
I linked to the cheapest edition of each book, but they have lots of different editions!

That’s all for today’s post! I really hope you enjoy the video, and please let me know if you’d like to see more of them, I’d love to make them for you 🙂

Are any of these books your favorite?

If you have any suggestions for videos I should make, leave them in the comments!!

Thank you for reading,
I’ll see you in my next video ♡

Introduction | Introdução

{🇬🇧 }

Hello lovely bookworms & bookdragons!

My name is Vanessa, and I am 20 years old, from Portugal. I discovered my love for reading in the beginning of 2015, after 18 years of thinking I didn’t like to read – I know, it’s confusing to me too haha – until I read Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell (review on my old blog).

Besides reading, I like to eat (a lot), sleep (also a lot), watch movies and TV shows, and hang out with friends. I also enjoy drawing, web and graphic designing, and taking pictures of books, which you can see on my bookstagram account. If you’re not familiar with the bookstagram and booktube communities, you should definitely go check them out! I will make a post about my favorites sometime.

I study Languages, Literature, and History in University of Lisbon, History being my minor. I love learning languages, and my goal is to speak every Romance language (3 down, 4 to go). I currently speak Portuguese, English, Spanish and French.

Now that you know the basics about me, let’s move on to the actual blogging stuff…

I’ve had several Tumblr blogs, since I was around 13, and the latest one was about books and school. After years of Tumblr blogging, I finally decided to start a WordPress blog – it’s a little more professional and, if I’m honest, I’m kind of tired of Tumblr. I will keep that blog, but I want to focus on this one.

On this blog I will mainly post about books, but I’ll most likely post about other things as well – maybe study tips? organisation? apps? – if I feel would be helpful, or if anyone requests it.

I also wanted to make this a bilingual blog, so each post (including this one) will be written in both English and Portuguese. I’m still trying to figure out the best way to do that, but I’ll get there eventually!

Processed with VSCO with hb1 presetSince we’re at it, do you think I should make separate posts (one in Portuguese and one in English) or have both languages on the same post, like I did on this one? Let me know, I’d love to hear your opinions!!

I intend on posting at least weekly, but I might be able to post more than once a week, at least until school starts again (mid-February).

This is what my bookshelf currently looks like. I’m pretty proud of it, although the amount of books on it that I haven’t read is terrifying…

If you’re interested in reading my old book reviews, you can do so here. There’s also a list of all of them.

Alright, I think that’s all I had to say. I hope I didn’t bore you too much.

See you in my next post! 💕
